Youth
have different wants. All of us have so many wants. Even adult, we wanted a lot
of things.
Today,
youth want a thing with their curiosity. They want to go anywhere; they want to
go with someone. They wanted to have a something new. They always want to go to
computer shop, they want shopping, and they want to buy things, things that
seem not so important in school, home and even to their self. They want to go
around. In technology, they wanted to have the latest version. They want to
earn money just to buy cell phone. In friends, they wanted a friend though it’s
expensive to have them. There are more
things to compare with peers. In
personal belongings, they do their best in order to compete with others. Some
girls wanted to be more beautiful and some boys wanted to be more handsome even
they are already more beautiful and handsome. Others wanted to go with their
friends, without knowing by parents that their friends are boys and girls. And when
their friendship is closely tight, that’s the time that they are more powerful
than their parents. The respect for parents little by little will decrease.
They have their own decision. They will go home late and was influenced by
alcohol. It’s not so bad taking alcohol, but if you admit yourself with that
every day it will result to unhealthy body and will bear sickness. They will
enjoy their life outside and this is the beginning that the influence in their
house will lose and will continue if the parents show a little attention to
their children. The influence outside will successfully transmitted to youth.
And this time, they can do whatever they wanted whether this is good or bad,
they feel free of doing it.
In
this situation, youth may result to early pregnancy which is now a trending
story of the youth today. And besides of getting pregnant, may be the young
partners will separate simply because they are not ready to become parent.
Others will become members of fraternity and sorority. I don’t know and I can’t imagine what’s going
on with those groups, but sometimes it seems to be very good in the community. And
other youth become more successful. They meet their goal in life simply because
in the experience they early realize that it was not a good influence for them.
They think of their future. Though they’d socialized with them, they knew that
it will just hind their journey. And other youth are more successful when they
are belonging to such group, the group that influences them to fly high, to
gain more and become successful in life. And it seems that they are truly
successful with their careers. They become a great leader who gives courage
and inspire other youth to dream and to be with their dreams.
Some youth
acts suicide because of simple problem with peers, specifically when broken
heart. In relationship, coupling is good when you can handle yourself, emotions
and expressions because love will not be an obstacle or hindrance but yourself
will be. Being broken heart may result of two situations: 1) By realizing that
there are much better love/partner awaits you and don’t concentrate the crashed
feeling. Just think of yourself to the future and move on. 2) Kill yourself (it’s
hard to move on when you, yourself, don’t want to move on)—this comes to those
who have a shorten vision, lack of thinking, selfish and not lovable person,
because if you think deeper, you will see that your beauty or handsome faces to
continue your journey in life. And always be reminded “think first before you
click.” We are not born to be dead, we are to be successful. And we are only
successful if we survive all of the challenges that come in our way.
It
is so complicated to have this situation of youth today. Parents and teachers have
a great responsibility with it. To parents, let us take a look what our children
is doing. We are not a tele-viewer of what they are doing, but a counselor and
guide to their future. Don’t get mad easily if something goes wrong. Please let
your child realize that what he’s/her doing is wrong and follow an advice that
will enlighten their mind not to do that. Youth always wear their curiosity in
many different ways, so check their cell phone regularly and never allow
yourself to be lack of knowledge and to be fool by your children. You are more
powerful than them. And you are the most responsible for them. To teachers, you
are not an issue transmitter, but a facilitator of each student. You have to do
your job in order for them to learn not to be popular with some negative
influence.
Let us build a
foundation that will bring student for the very good future. Let not just take
a look in process, but also in product. Always look for the output. We must
help one another, for we believe that we are all the same and deserves to have
a successful living.
